Super Lawyers, a company that conducts peer review surveys, in addition to surveying Kentucky judges, has named Scott Cox and Mike Mazzoli as two of the best criminal defense attorneys in Kentucky. Scott Cox was named as one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Kentucky for any practice area. He was one of only two criminal defense lawyers in Kentucky to receive that distinction.
Mike Mazzoli was one of only 17 lawyers in Kentucky to be named a Super Lawyer in the area of Criminal Defense. Mike is widely recognized as one of the best criminal appellate lawyers in the Kentucky. Mike wrote the appellate brief and argued the Rice case before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He successfully argued that all evidence acquired through a federal wire tap should be suppressed. This is the only case in the history of the Sixth Circuit where a wire tap was thrown out. As a result of Mazzoli's skilled written and oral advocacy, ten defendants in a federal criminal case had all their charges dismissed and were released from custody.
