The U. S. Senate last week confirmed U. S. Attorney David J. Hale and Greg Stivers to serve on the United States District Court bench. Hale replaces the Honorable Charles R. Simpson and is expected to serve on the federal bench in Louisville. Stivers takes the position held by the Honorable Thomas Russell. Stivers will likely serve primarily in Paducah and Bowling Green, even though most judges take at least a few cases in Louisville. Both Simpson and Russell will continue to serve in their Senior Status capacity but will handle fewer cases.
